Soap: Getting Creative

I've got several fun projects in the works with my soap operation right now.  While I've definitely been hard at work making more of everyone's favorites, I'm also enjoying doing research and experimentation to create some very specialized bars.  Here's a look at a couple new projects:

First, I've got several of these soap-stuffed luffa soap-on-a-rope type things.  They are scented with lavender and hang from a bright, pretty ribbon.  A circular slice of all-natural luffa is filled and surrounded by soap.  The luffa serves to hold the ribbon in place and add exfoliation as your soap wears away in spots.  I've got several of these still available if anyone would like to try one out.  They make excellent gifts.

Another project (and the one I am personally most excited about) is this new swirled soap.  Sure, it has an interesting look, but that's not what's so exciting.

It represents months of research on various oils, their qualities in soaping, and their effects on acne-prone skin.  This bar is packed with the fruits of all that labor.  It is non-comedogenic (meaning it will not clog pores) and contains several specialty oils and additives known for their amazing abilities with troublesome skin (kaolin clay, activated charcoal, rosemary and tea tree oil -- just to name a few).  It still has a few weeks to cure before I'll be testing it out, but I'll need a few volunteer testers at that time, so let me know if you'd like to be one to try it out and report back!
