To allow our goats to keep up their strength and health during pregnancy, we give them a break from milking. This means that before we stop milking, I have to stockpile milk in the freezer to use in soapmaking until the goats are in milk again.
When I did this, though, I had no idea that I'd be making soap so frequently and in such large quantities to keep up with the demand. What a blessing, indeed! But, my frozen supply is running low.
So, I had a little talk with my two expectant mommas yesterday and explained to them how popular their milk has become and how we really will need some more of it quickly. They were nonplussed. Oh, well. This top view shows Honey's belly, bulging to the sides. I still haven't felt any movement, but I'm hoping delivery is drawing nigh. Yes, I need milk for soap, but I'm also very much looking forward to nuzzling those little babies!
